10. Bicycle (1839)
The first bicycle was invented on June 1817, by a German Barol Karl Von Drais, who called it ´Dandy horse´ and presented it officially in 1818 in Paris. Even though it was a very basic kind of bicycle, it was suddendly improved and became a new way of transport.

9. Phonograph (1867)
Invented by Thomas Edison in 1867, the phonograph, was the first invention that could record and reproduce sounds.

8. Guillotine (1789)
Apparatus originally made for medical purposes, but after used in the french revolution to execute enemies of the revolution quickly.

7. Sewing machine (1844)
The sewing machine opened the textile market, and decreased the amount of workers needed in the factorys, which meant more money for the factory owners.

6. Rifle (1800)
The rifle revolutionised war tactics due to it´s large range of shoot and it´s easyness to reload.

5. Hot air ballon (1783)
The invention of the hot air ballon as the first way of transport by which man could fly, and was the fist step to the invention of the airoplane.

4. Battery (1800)
Alessandro Volta invented the first battery, putting Benjamin Franklin´s theory into practice.This invention was rapidly used by scientists and inventors, for the development of their own creations, such as the telegraph. If the battery hadn´t been invented, then lots of inventions wouldn´t have existed.

3. Camera (1816)
The first camera was invented by Nicéphore Niépce in 1816, a french inventor along with 2 parisian opticians, designed and created the Susse Frères. Thanks to this invention, there was no need anymore on painting, because it captured real time images. The camera also opened a hole new way of art that will make paintors reinvent their style of painting.

2. Telegraph (1837)
The telegraph invented by Samuel Morse in 1837, was the first invention by which people could communicate rapidly in large distances. This made able for news to spread quicly from America to Europe, and changed completedly the course of some wars.

1. Steam engine (1781)
James Watt invented in 1781 the steam engine, which revolutionised the whole world, and is the principal invention of the industrial revolution.The steam engine was used for lots of inventions such as the locomotive, the car, the factory...
Not only was it a new invention, but it changed the lifestyle of almost everyone of the time, and changed the way of thinking of people, and gave birth to a brave new world.
